Mixed Wood Furniture and Bowls

Office Table - The vision for this table came right before the COVID outbreak in 2020. Since I was unable to go hardwood stores I had to rely on material on hand. The top is all from cutoffs from other projects. These cut pieces were glued, then cut and reglued many times. The end grain is all that shows in the final piece. The edges were beveled at a 45 degree angle and then rotated and glued so only end grain shows there as well. The wood species in the top are black cherry, two species of walnut, white and red oaks, maple, hickory, and ash. The structure is red oak and final measurements were 35” x 51” with two extra pull-out desktops.

Entry Table - The entryway table featured a floating top design. The wood was made using leftover cuts from the office table. The legs are from ash and maple and black walnut. Dimensions are 14” x 30”.

Comma Bowls - The large mixed wood bowl won a prize at the Blue Springs Art League show in 2022. It is approximately 18” diameter with a 6” inner bowl space. Inspiration for this came from a weather forecast showing the hurricane symbols on the map. I took a circular inner bowl and placed the commas on either side.
